After owning the 03 largest warehouses in Southern Vietnam, PNP Charcoal decided to develop another sawdust charcoal warehouse in Yen Bai, Northern Vietnam. In this essay, let us introduce our 4th charcoal manufacturer and its operation so far.
What motivates us to expand our charcoal warehouses?
Many people ask us why we still want to invest in opening another Northern charcoal warehouse. After all, we have already owned the 03 largest charcoal warehouse in the South of Vietnam. Is it because we are in a ‘’race’’ to compete with other charcoal suppliers in the market?
Well, it is not our real motivation. In 2023, with thorough market research and a broad understanding of customers, we realized the substantial increase in charcoal demand, especially in the Middle East and Oceania. Therefore, to seize this opportunity and satisfy the global charcoal needs, in August 2023, the 4th PNP Charcoal factory located in Yen Bai, Northern Vietnam came into operation.
Why did we choose Yen Bai to locate our next charcoal warehouse?
Firstly, we believe Yen Bai will be the perfect location to place our 4th charcoal warehouse due to its available raw materials: sawdust. At our Northern warehouse, there are a lot of sawdust sources, making it more convenient for us to collect materials and produce charcoal.
In contrast, it is easier for the Southern warehouses to get access to Mangrove charcoal and other types of wood. That’s why while our Southern warehouses major in producing wood charcoal, especially Mangrove charcoal, our Northern charcoal warehouse focuses on Sawdust charcoal only.
The availability of Sawdust ingredients near our new charcoal factory also enables us to decrease delivery time and remain a stable source of materials, therefore, always ensuring on-time delivery.
On top of that, one of our long-term goals when building PNP Charcoal is to create more jobs for the people living in the local areas. By building a charcoal warehouse in Yen Bai, we hope to raise the living conditions of people here.

The kilns we use
There are 2 types of kilns mainly used to produce sawdust charcoal: earth kilns and iron cages. And at PNP Charcoal, we use the former method. With the earth kilns, most of the steps are crafted instead of being mass produced like using iron cages. By using this method, the final products can have higher quality with less cost compared to using iron cages.
Our final products
With an efficient production plan, our sawdust charcoal is carbonized at a high temperature for a long time, therefore, containing high carbon content and can be conducive. Made mainly from hardwood materials, our sawdust charcoal can burn for a substantial amount of time, which helps create a more convenient grilling experience for customers.
How our sawdust charcoal factory has been in operation so far?
Within 6 months, our Northern charcoal factory has been in operation, supplying charcoal for customers’ orders worldwide. We are also open for customers to visit and assess the production process of our factory.
